AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, Anakreon of Teos seated right on chair, playing chelys; in exergue, monogram. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die and with minor doubling on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.

Price notes that this is the last issue of Teos, struck in the years after the Treaty of Apameia between the Romans and Antiochos III 'the Great'. Its reverse shows a seated chelys player, who is best identified with the famous lyric poet Anakreon of Teos (circa 575-495/90 BC)
